Kas preserves its small-town charm, part of which comes from its setting at the foot of a wall of mountains facing the sparkling Mediterranean sea. Kas-once an unspoiled fishing village-is now a relatively unspoiled tourist town with narrow cobbled streets and novel boutique shops, located on the southern bulge of Turkey's Mediterranean coast with two hours drive southeast of Fethiye and three hours drive southwest of Antalya. Ruins of the ancient town of Antiphellus mix with modern buildings in Kas. Those who have been in this lovely town know that there is an abundance of outdoor activities, and a lively nightlife have maintained its reputation as a satisfying holiday destination.

It is the centre for glass-bottomed boat trips to the sunken cities around Kekova Island from where remains of mysterious civilisations can be viewed just below the surface of the water, and visits can be arranged to the surrounding archeological sites at Demre, Myra and the Xanthos Valley.

The town is built around the remains of ancient Antiphellos and there are ruins of a Hellenistic theatre, the monumental Lion Tomb and some hillside rock tombs in and around the town.
